Frequently Asked Questions

How To: Report Suspicious Email Messages

Overview

Keeping your organization safe from cyber threats requires constant awareness. Email phishing attacks are one of the most common ways criminals attempt to steal passwords, financial information, or gain access to business systems.

Because phishing emails often target only a few individuals at a time, your willingness to report suspicious messages helps protect everyone in your organization.
If you receive a message that seems unusual, unexpected, or suspicious — report it immediately.

When to Report an Email

Report the message if it:
  • Asks you to click a link or open an attachment unexpectedly
  • Requests passwords, financial information, or account verification
  • Creates urgency or pressure to act quickly
  • Appears to come from someone you know but seems unusual
  • Contains poor spelling, grammar, or suspicious links
When in doubt — report it.

How to Report a Suspicious Email

Please send the message as an Outlook Item attachment to phishingreport@ntelogic.com

Include PHISHING REPORT in the subject line.

Sending the email as an attachment preserves important technical details (called headers) that allow us to investigate and block similar messages for others.

After sending the report, you may delete the message from your inbox.
