Troubleshooting Steps:

Step 1: Check Physical Connections:

  1. Ensure the device is plugged in and powered on.

  3. If using a wireless printer, check that it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Restart the Printer or Peripheral Device:

  1. Power off the device and unplug it for 30 seconds.
  2. Turn it back on and check if the issue persists.

Step 3: Check for Error Messages:

  1. Look at the device’s display for any error codes.
  2. Refer to the user manual or the manufacturer’s website for error code meanings and solutions.

Step 4: Verify the Printer or Peripheral is Set as Default:

Windows:
  1. Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click Set as default.
Mac:
  1. Open System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and set it as the default device.

Step 5: Check Ink, Toner, or Paper (For Printers):

  1. Ensure the printer has sufficient ink or toner.
  2. Check the paper tray for adequate paper and clear any jams.
  3. Ensure the correct paper size and type are selected in the print settings.
