How To: Export Bookmarks in Google Chrome

Exporting bookmarks in Google Chrome is a simple process that allows you to back up or transfer your saved websites to another browser or device. Follow these steps to export your bookmarks as an HTML file.

Step 1 Open the Bookmark Manager:

  1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the browser.
  3. Hover over Bookmarks, then click Bookmark manager.

Step 2 Export Your Bookmarks:

  1. In the Bookmark Manager, click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the blue toolbar.
  2. Select Export bookmarks.

Step 3 Save the File:

  1. A Save As dialog box will appear. Choose a location on your computer to save the exported file.
  2. The file will be named bookmarks_YYYY_MM_DD.html by default (you can rename it if needed).
  3. Click Save.

Step 4 Use the Exported Bookmarks File:

Your exported bookmarks file is now saved as an HTML file. You can:
  • Import it into another browser.
  • Store it as a backup.
  • Share it with another user.
