Issue: Mac Mail Rejects Password After Using Migration Assistant
After transferring your content from your prior Mac Book to your new Mac Book using the Apple Migration Assistant, the email messages in your Exchange mailbox will be copied to Mac Mail on the new Mac Book. New email messages may not be received on the new Mac Book. Mac Mail may prompt for the password and immediately reject it. This behavior is a known issue as indicated in this Apple Support article.

Steps to Resolve:
  1. Open Mac Mail
  2. Remove the account
  3. Select Add Account
  4. On the Internet Accounts page, select Microsoft Exchange from the list
  5. Enter your Name and email address and click Sign In
  6. Select the applications you want to use with your Exchange account:
    • Mail
    • Contacts
    • Calendars
    • Reminders
    • Notes
  7. Click Done
